Kerkini Lake, Greece

During the short passage of the Iron Curtain Trail in Greece, cyclists have the opportunity to discover a haven of tranquillity for nature in the Kerkini Lake National Park. Created in 1932, the lake is nowadays among one the most important habitats for birds in Greece. As the route passes through the park, tourists can observe first hand some of the 227 kinds of birds which live in this wonderful hydro-biosphere.
